Alaina Moné, "LAI"
Born and raised in Washington, DC, Alaina Moné is a wife, mother, educator, artist, and designer. Art has been a part of her life since a very young age. Would you believe she was voted "Most Artistic & Creative" for her high school senior superlatives? If you know her, its not hard to believe at all. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Visual Communications from Grambling State University and her Masters of Elementary Education from Howard University.
Having served as a DC Public School educator for 11 years, Alaina now serves both children and adults through her passion for art. While teaching, if there was ever anything art related needed throughout the school, the people called on her to get it done. She was often encouraged to step out and create a business that would cater to her love for art. In 2017, Alaina created the "Bathroom Club" with a goal of beautifying the bathrooms throughout the school. In 2018, while serving at an All Girls Public School, The "Girls Bathroom Club" was born. The mission was to bring color and a sense of beauty into a space where girls spent much of their time aside from the classroom. The Girls Bathroom Club was a success with the students. Since then, Alaina has been painting with and for children in and out of the schools. She also hosts paint paint parties and classes for both youth and adults. Her desire is to share her love for art in all areas and educate others on the impact of art in our lives.
Her signature artistic style is one that embodies lots of color and a unique pattern that creates a whimsical and exciting feeling. Bold black lines outline her work and reel you in to the colorful and unique nature of the artist.
